This is the most recent piece that was commissioned by Art Dreese for his LARP group.
As always, a great time working with him and his fun subject matter.

A cry for help! 2

So, here is another image that has been haunting limbo for a few years. This was done for Magic: the Gathering Online. It was called a “Thopter Token” in the art notes. Like the image that I’d posted on October 25, I’ve received no samples or any visual indication that the art was ever used. Have any of you that play Magic Online seen this peice on a token card?
I would greatly appreciate a screen shot to see what it looked like!
As always, thank you for looking!

Full Moon Offering XXIV

The November full moon is shining coldly here tonight. Very appropriate for a werewolf image. This piece appeared in the new Vampire: the Masquerade 20th Anniversary rulebook. Rich Thomas, the art director for the project, graciously invited me to submit 4 pieces for the book. Vampires are fun but my loyalty has always been firmly planted in the werewolf camp. This may be apparent in the composition of this piece as I have a somewhat diminutive Gangrel dropping into a lycanthropic meatgrinder.
A note on the title of this posting, over the last few years I’ve used the Deviantart site for a casual gallery. Full Moon Offering #’s I – XXIII are posted there. However due to my PCs vulnerability to viruses, malware, etc. I have been unable to use the site lately. Hence for the time being I’ll be posting my monthly FMO pieces on this blog. “Wrath of God” sketch

This is an example of a sketch that I turn into the art director. This specific piece was for the “Wrath of God” textless card.
To save time and keep the project moving I usually submit a fairly tight drawing. These are done in pencil on tracing paper. This one didn’t require much in the way of changes. After the okayed sketch is finalized I slap the tracing paper onto my copy machine and print the final line drawing onto Bristol board for rendering. The finished card is shown beside the sketch.

Sauron’s Will !

This was an EXTREME alteration of a Yawgmoth’s Will card that required all of the card art to be covered up. So here’s Gollum with the Precious getting toasted by Sauron.
This was a private commission and a good example of some of the unconventional ideas that Magic players come up with.
‘Appreciate you looking!
