Full Moon Offering XXXVI

Good evening and thanks for stopping off to look over the new Full Moon Offering.
This month features a sketch-dump of old and newer doodles, incomplete ideas and an unused sketch from the WW 20 project.

OOooohh… I love the perspective shot in the last one. Was there a story behind this piece as to it’s inspiration, story it was telling, or why it was abandoned?

The first one also seems familiar… as I struggle through my own commissions.

Richi is also putting together a “Making of the Art of W20” book of some sort too. 🙂

The full page sketch was composed for the Silver Fangs section of the WW20 book. The original art description asked for a fight scene with Albricht in humanish form fighting a rival in Crinos form. He was to be fighting but holding back so as to not harm his opponent. After a couple of compositional attempts, this is what I came up with. Its a workable fight scene but lacks the dignity and savage decorum that a duel for dominance would have amoung the Silver Fangs. All of us ( Ethan, Rich and myself ) agreed that a piece showing the two opponents just before the action might work better. So thats how the existing Silver Fangs picture came to be.
      Thanks for asking!

I also can’t help but notice that the first image (wolfy-self drawing) seems to have been drawn in 2005, but there are representations of RAGE CCG cards, and perhaps Magic: the Gathering cards as well? I suppose I should ask what the story is/was behind this one too, since it seems fairly finished for just a doodle.

While I’m at it, I should also ask if there are any other stories behind any of the pieces you’ve posted here too. 🙂
Are they just simple doodles, or were any concepts, or had any particular thoughts behind them? The Werewolf/Vampire on the crumpled blue paper seems a bit peculiar, and the black werewolf in front of the purple/orange background looks like it may have been a doodle/sketch done for someone/something?

Regarding your first piece: Is it easier or more difficult to draw while in Crinos form?
